Every year for World AIDS Day, our dedicated volunteers make and distribute tens of thousands of red ribbons to raise awareness about HIV and AIDS globally.

Our volunteers will be handing out ribbons across Melbourne CBD street corners, selected corporate foyers and Metro train stations.

Look out for our friendly volunteers wearing their "HIV STILL MATTERS" tshirts and handing out ribbons.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander HIV Awareness Week and World AIDS Day event

About the event

The Department of Health’s National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Staff Network (NATSISN) and PRIDE Network are working together closely during ATSIHAW and WAD to help bring awareness to the wider community in further understanding HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted diseases.

There will be an awareness stall set up from 25 November to 29 November 2019 with a variety of free informative resources.

Merchandise will be available by donation, with funds raised donated to a local Indigenous youth organisation to help spread awareness and education about HIV/STIs in the Indigenous community.

The week will commence with a presentation by James Ward on Monday 25 November 2019.

Community members are welcome to visit the awareness stalls in the Sirius building foyer throughout the week.
